1963 Humber Sceptre

This is a Humber Sceptre MK I and was one of the first to be built in 1963.

To hire this Humber for a weekend Summer wedding the cost for the day is just £350.

This absolutely stunning Humber Sceptre with its red paint work and shining chrome is an original car that has only recently undergone a full body re-spray as after 52 years the old paint work was beginning to fade.  The interior looks as though it has just been driven out of the factory gates and although there were 17000 Sceptres made this is only one of four still left on the roads in the UK and I guarantee it is possibly the best of the four.

The Sceptre has a 1600 four cylinder engine producing 80 bhp which in 1963 was quite an engine and quite a car. It has a four speed manual gearbox and only 50,000 miles on the clock meaning in 52 years the Sceptre has averaged just under a 1000 miles a year. The Sceptre has a cream leatherette interior with red piping which was an optional extra and not normally the colour scheme to have with the red exterior. The Sceptre also has a full sliding red sun roof which means on a Sunny day the light just floods in. The Sceptre was one of the first cars to be made with front disc brakes so with its small powerful engine and disc brakes this is a match for any modern car and can keep up with all the modern day traffic.

In the back of the car there is ample room for two large adults and leg room to spare for the largest of wedding dresses.  If red is your favourite colour or is the colour scheme for your wedding then this is the car for you. A definite head turner and with only four left in the UK you will be the only one arriving at the party in a Humber Sceptre.

The Sceptre is lovingly cared for by its present owners who lavish loads of love and care on her so the car is as reliable and in as good a condition as she was when she came out of the factory.
