1961 VW 23 window Samba Camper

This is a 1961 T2 23 window VW Samba camper. Imported from Australia so it is right hand drive this Samba has under gone a three year nut and bolt restoration with no expense spared.

This is the Samba version of VWs T1 camper fleet and is called the 23 window Samba because, you guessed it, there are 23 windows. The front windscreen is a split screen with the Safari option meaning the windows fold out for ventilation. Ideal for when you lived in Australia in the 1960s before air conditioning was invented. The rear window does the same so you can have air flow right through the Samba. On the sides there are four large pop out windows and above these in the roof are four fixed sky lights on either side. Then to cap it all off there is a ragtop sun roof which is idea for standing up in for photos.
